About XML sitemaps

A sitemap is one of the simplest ways to help search engines find every page on your site, especially pages that aren't well linked internally. This generator produces a standards-compliant <urlset> with one <url> entry per line you paste, applying your chosen lastmod, changefreq and priority to each. Invalid lines (anything that isn't a valid absolute URL) are skipped, and the count shows how many were used.

Frequently asked questions

What is an XML sitemap?
An XML sitemap lists the URLs on your site so search engines can discover and crawl them efficiently. Each URL can carry optional hints: lastmod (last modified date), changefreq and priority.
How many URLs can one sitemap hold?
A single sitemap file is limited to 50,000 URLs and 50 MB uncompressed. For larger sites, split into multiple sitemaps and reference them from a sitemap index file.
Do changefreq and priority matter?
Google has said it largely ignores changefreq and priority and relies on lastmod when it is accurate. They are still valid and harmless to include.
How do I submit my sitemap?
Upload it to your site (e.g. /sitemap.xml), add a Sitemap: line to your robots.txt, and submit the URL in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.
