snip.tools (“snip”, “we”, “us”) is operated by DevRig LLC, Wyoming, USA. This policy explains what data we do and don't collect when you use the site.

The short version

Information you provide to tools

Most snip tools run entirely on your device. Files and text you process are never uploaded to or stored by us. A small number of lookup tools send only an identifier you enter (such as a domain name) to a public registry in order to return a result; those pages are labelled accordingly.

Analytics

We use a self-hosted, privacy-friendly analytics tool (Umami) to understand aggregate site usage. It sets no cookies and stores no identifier on your device. It processes your IP address momentarily at the point of collection solely to derive your country, after which the IP is discarded and never stored; we retain only non-identifying, aggregate information (for example, the page visited, referring site, country, browser/OS/device type, screen size, and which tool was used). The lawful basis for this processing is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in measuring and improving our service.

Your choice. You have the right to object to this analytics processing at any time. You can opt out by enabling Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser — we detect either signal and exclude you from analytics automatically — or by reaching out via our contact form (choose “Privacy / data request”).

Advertising

We intend to display advertising to keep the tools free. When advertising is enabled, third-party vendors (including Google) may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, ads and ad cookies load only with your consent, collected through a Google-certified consent management platform. Where advertising consent or opt-out choices apply, you can change your choice via the Privacy settings control in the footer.

Contact messages

If you write to us through the form on /contact, your message — and the email address you provide for a reply, if any — is relayed to our inbox by our email provider, Mailgun (Sinch). We use the message solely to answer you. Messages are not added to any marketing list, are not profiled, and are deleted from our inbox once the conversation is closed (typically within 90 days). The email field is optional; leave it blank to send anonymously.

The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-respecting CAPTCHA that does not use cookies or user tracking. Turnstile inspects the visitor's browser to verify they are human; the verification token is sent to Cloudflare and discarded after a single check.

Some pages link to third-party products and services. We may earn a commission if you make a purchase through those links, at no extra cost to you. These links do not change what data we collect.

Your choices and rights

Because we don't hold accounts or personal profiles, there is little personal data to access or delete. You can clear your consent choice and any locally stored preferences by clearing your browser storage for this site. For privacy questions, contact us at the address below. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR or similar laws to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold — though in practice we hold essentially none.

Children

snip.tools is a general-audience utility site and is not directed to children under 13.
